First Thursdays Johannesburg: Braamfontein Alive!

I'm sure many "Braamies" wondered what's happening last Thursday in the hood as we witnessed a whole lots of visitors in the evening from 5pm till late hours.

I wondered too!

A walk down to Pick N' Pay with Dominique reflects the newness of my hood as people flocked around doing all sorts of things, like eating, drinking, shopping, standing across the streets and moving to the musical sounds coming from a live performance from Neighbourgoods Market at 73, Juta Street.

"I like the music, shall we go and have a look?"she said to me. "Yes", I said to satisfy her curiosity! We walked in to the amazement of the market place; clean and ready for the night series of events.

I am aware of this event but unbelievably I forgot the name. Later that evening, Casper Versluis; a brother of mine, reminded me. "Hey, I know you are wondering what's happening", he said to me. " I know what's going on but I forgot the name of the event" was my reply. "First Thursdays Johannesburg!" I gave him a pat at the back for that!

First Thursdays Johannesburg is giving amazing opportunities to people to walk between the art galleries, retail stores and other cultural attractions of Braamfontein until late on every first Thursday of the month according to the information provided on their pamphlet
