'WHAT DOES YOUR SOUL LONGS FOR?'

"As the hart pants after the water brooks, so pants my soul after You, O God, My soul thirst for God, for the living God: when shall I come and appear before God?" - Psalm 42:1-2
.
The soul of a man is the seat of his emotions, desire, willpower and affection. What you set your soul to desire would define to a large extent the kind of life you'd live here and in eternity.
.
Some people, their soul desire money so bad that they can do anything to get it (1 Tim. 6:10). Some love pleasure and the pleasurable things of life but they've forgotten that it destroys (1 Tim. 5:6). Yet some are interested in the world and all that's therein (1 John 2:15).
.
What does your soul long for?
.
If the major longing of your soul isn't set at loving God, you won't be able to do His will. What your soul longs for determines your affection, pursuit and also forms your perception about life.
.
When your soul long for God and His word, it's then that you can please Him and do His will. It's also then that you can set your affection on the things that are above (Col. 3:1-2).
.
Examine your heart brethren, I do not say you shouldn't think of other things but don't let them eliminate your longing for God. If they do, your worries, troubles and burdens in life would increase.
.
But when you long for Him wholeheartedly in spirit and in truth; it's then that your needs become His and He'll take care of them (Ps. 55:22).
.
Don't long for the mundane things of life that are earthly and temporal but seek God passionately so that you can be filled with Him and appear before Him in eternal bliss.
