'ASK FOR UNDERSTANDING'

"I am Your servant, give me understanding that I may know Your testimonies" - Psalm 119:125
.
It takes a faithful servant to be bold enough to ask his master the things he want. You can't pray like the Psalmist if you're not serving God.
.
Unless God gives you understanding, you won't be able to know His testimonies even if your pastor teaches you about it. It was until Jesus opened the understanding of His disciples that they could understand what He was saying (Luke 24:45).
.
Understanding is the next important thing after wisdom that you must get in life (Prov. 4:7). And this understanding He gives is spiritual. The understanding enables you know the state of your life in all areas, it reveals who your friends and enemies are.
.
When He gives you understanding, you will not perish in life (Hos. 4:6), you will know the truth and be free from bondage (John 8:32) and you'd be able to do His will in every areas of your life.
.
Without the understanding that He gives, you can't know His testimonies even if you have doctorate degree in psychology.
.
Getting understanding from God is not about studying the Bible, it's about knowing and understanding what you read as the Holy Spirit guides you into all truth. This is why the Psalmist prayed that He should open his eyes that he can behold wondrous things out of His law (Ps. 119:18).
.
Your lack of comprehension of what the Spirit is saying beyond the letters is due to your lack of understanding. When He gives you understanding, you'll be able to know His testimonies and apply them to every areas of your life.
.
The presence of the understanding that God gives will give you revelation, direction, insight and light to walk clearly in the dark path of life.
.
Men and brethren, do you have divine understanding? It's high time you sought for it in prayers. Divine understanding will make you to know what you ought to do at every stage of your life (1 Chronicles 12:32). And this understanding can only be obtained through prayer, intense study of the word and your faithful service in kingdom matters.
