'YOUR HIDING PLACE & SHIELD'

"The name of the Lord is a strong tower: the righteous runs into it and is safe" - Proverbs 18:10
.
History had it that people run into caves or certain places to take refuge whenever there's war or pandemonium befalls a city. A hiding place is a place of defense that keeps a person safe from all evil.
.
Shield on the other hand, is an instrument of war that prevents a man from attack during battle. It saves one from arrow, sword and spear attack.
.
Meanwhile, the Psalmist said the Lord is his hiding place and shield (Ps. 119:114). How can this be?
.
The name of the Lord is a strong tower, though invincible but real and it takes only the righteous to take refuge in it and be safe (Prov. 18:10). Those who made the Lord their hiding place cannot be visited with evil because they put their trust in Him (Ps. 125:1-2).
.
If God must be your hiding place and shield, you must have a personal relationship with Him. The presence of sin or living a sinful life doesn't make you right before God and prevents Him from saving you (Is. 59:1).
.
You must then put your trust in Him and not in the arms of flesh (Jer. 17:5-7). All of these processes aren't abstract or theoretical, they must be practicalized in your life because the Lord is real and near to those who call upon Him in Spirit and in truth.
.
When the Lord becomes your hiding place, no evil can come upon you physically, financially, spiritually, maritally and in other areas because the Lord completely protects His children when they put their trust in Him.
.
Not everyone has made the Lord their hiding place this is why some still experience evil in life. If you can make your ways right before Him and put your trust in Him, He will defend and protect you.
.
Where and who do you run to, to take refuge in the time of trouble? The Lord or the world?
