'THE ENTRANCE OF HIS WORD'

"The entrance of Your word gives light; it gives understanding to the simple" - Psalm 119:130
.
God's word is light (John 1:5). It shines in darkness and it cannot comprehend it. When it enters into your heart through your ears, it'll illuminate the darkness in your life.
.
Light in this context means revelation, insight, knowledge and it enables you to see clearly when you're making decisions in life. Darkness means ignorance, confusion, disillusionment etc.
.
How does the word enters? Where does it enter? How does it give light?
.
It'll enter into you when you meditate, memorize, reflect and diligently study it. This is why Moses told the Israelites to embrace the word (Deut. 6:5-9); God told Joshua (Josh. 1:8); Jesus told His disciples (John 8: 31-32) and Paul told Timothy (2 Tim. 2:15).
.
The effect of God's word can be felt when your heart is fertile. If you allow the cares of life, deceitfulness of riches (Matt. 13:22) to occupy your heart, His word won't enter. It'll only enter when in an honest and good heart, you hear it, keep it and it brings forth fruit with patience (Luke 8:15).
.
Moreso, His word can only give you light when you allow the Holy Spirit to guide you into all truth concerning it (John 16:13), when you allow the Spirit to give life to the word you meditate upon (John 6:63) and you receive the engrafted word with meekness (James 1:21).
.
The amount of light in you is a function of the word that has entered into you and have bear fruit. The word won't give you light if you don't allow the Holy Spirit to breathe upon it in your heart or you allow the voice of reason to interpret the scripture to you.
.
Does the word gives you light when it enters into your heart? Or it leaves you the same way you were before studying it?
