'FOR KINGS AND LEADERS'

"For kings and all that are in authority: that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty" - 1 Timothy 2:2
.
Whether in church government or secular world, supplications, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving must be made for them. Why? So that they can lead a quiet and peaceable (no strife, contention, harsh laws) in all godliness and honesty.
.
When you fail to pray for those in authority, the kind of life they'll live will definitely affect you, directly or indirectly.
.
Prayer changes everything. Why is the world and the church like this today? Because there are no men who rise to pray but always complain or blame what they fail to do. If you and I can convert our complaining energies into prayers, there will be turnaround in their governance.
.
Why do they need your prayers? Take away the wicked from before the king and his throne shall be established in righteousness (Prov. 25:5). Wicked men and powers don't want them to lead aright.
.
Why do you have to pray for them? So that their wives or families won't influence their leadership negatively (1 Kings 21:1-25; 11:1-4; Mark 6:21-28).
.
Why do they need prayers? So that the devil won't enforce them to do what is ungodly through counsel, opinions or suggestions from within or without as in David's case (1 Chron. 21:1-17). They need our prayers so that they can be strengthened against evil influence.
.
They need our prayers so that they won't only do what is good but godly; right but righteous in God's sight. It's not easy to become a leader especially those who lead God's people.
.
Dearly beloved in Christ, supplicate, pray, intercede and give thanks to God on their behalf rather than blame or point accusing fingers.
.
May the gate of hell not prevail over the church and our leaders in Jesus name.
