'GUARD AGAINST DECEPTION'

"Cease, my son to hear the instruction that causes to err from the words of knowledge" - Proverbs 19:27
.
Deception is the oldest tactic that the devil uses to destroy the lives of many. He succeeded with it in the garden of Eden when he deceived Eve (Gen. 3:1-7).
.
Deception is not a fabrication of new truths, it is an alteration of existing truth or a perversion of it. God said "You'll surely die if you eat the fruit (Gen. 2:16-17)" but the devil said "You'll not surely die (Gen. 3:4)".
.
It is a tragedy for a man not to have the knowledge of the truth because ignorance is expensive. Deception are instruction that would make you err from the truth.
.
That a man doesn't know the truth doesn't mean he won't face the consequence of deviating the truth. This is why it's important to know the truth (John 8:32).
.
To know the truth, you must buy it (Prov. 23:23). The truth that would deliver a man from deception won't come to him cheaply, you must pay the price to have it.
.
Mind you, the truth you need to know about life and godliness can only be found in the word of God. It is when you search the scripture that you can find it (John 5:39). Don't be lazy to study your bible. Don't depend on what people say alone, check if it's true in the bible.
.
Deception places a man's life in bondage because what it promises to give is falsehood and it adds sorrow and destruction to it.
.
Deception thrives when you only see the pleasure inherent in an act rather than the consequence associated with it. When Eve saw that the tree was good for food, pleasant to the eyes and that it would make her wise, she ate it (Gen. 3:6) forgetting what is going to be the aftermath.
 .
The only advantage you have against deception is to know the truth and act on it. The devil, through men, even some men of God will tell you what is contrary to the word of God.
.
Remember, whosoever is deceived thereby is not wise and would suffer the consequence.
