'MEDITATE ON THESE THINGS'

"This book of the law shall not depart out of your mouth but you shall meditate therein day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then you shall make your way prosperous, and then you shall have good success" - Joshua 1:8
.
All scripture is given by the inspiration of God (2 Tim. 3:16), more so, the word of God is quick and powerful, sharper than any two edged sword (Heb. 4:12). In addition, the words Jesus spoke are spirit and life (John 6:63).
.
Can you imagine what would happen when the word of the law doesn't depart out of your mouth and you meditate therein day and night?
.
It means that the word will transform your life from within to without, it will renew your mind, you'll carry God's inspiration in your spirit which will produce spiritual understanding (Job 32:8) and you will tap into the spirit and life-changing power of the word.
.
But unfortunately, ignorance, negligence or careless attitude to the word usually prevents many from accessing these benefits.
.
Before you'd be able to meditate in the word, you must first read and study it. It is what is in your mouth that you can meditate in your heart. The mouth reads but the heart meditates therein.
.
To meditate is to feed your soul and spirit with His word. A well fed soul will overcome temptation and every challenges of life just like a well body will have the energy to do work.
.
It is lack of meditation that prevents revelation. You cannot receive the word He sent if you fail to meditate therein. When you receive it, then it will deliver you from destruction. No wonder Jesus said you shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free (John 8:32).
.
Why do I have to meditate therein day and night? Daily meditation equips your spirit man to overcome the challenges of the day while nighty meditation helps you through the hours of the night.
.
Reading may be personal but meditation is more personal and beneficial. But remember, you can't meditate in His word if you do not delight in it (Ps. 1:2a).
.
What do you meditate in?
