(People Will depart from the faith)

"Nevertheless when the Son of Man comes, shall He find faith on the earth"? - Luke 18:8b
Jesus asked a great question and none of His disciples could give Him an answer: will He find faith on earth when He returns? Will He find you in faith (mine)?
Faith in this context means persistence or to believe in God. As the end draws near, many won't be able to persistently pray to God to get what they want, many won't even believe in Him because they know what to do in their situation.
Do you still have the spirit of persistence - to ask until you receive and not to give up? Do you still believe in God in this latter times? Many are now becoming lovers of their own selves, covetous, lovers of pleasure more than lovers of God (2 Tim. 3:2-5).
If you do not hold tenaciously to your salvation and faith, the pressure of the times we are in we make it slip away from you. This is why God spoke through Paul to you that you should examine yourself whether you're still in faith (2 Cor. 13:5) and that you work out your salvation (Phil. 2:12b).
How would you examine yourself? Ask yourself honest questions.
1. Do I still hunger and thirst for God and His word?
2. Am I beginning to live a complacent life - this and that aren't too bad?
3. Am I still a new creature in Christ or I have returned to my old life?
4. Do I still enjoy the fellowship of brethren or I now enjoy the company of sinners (Psalm 1:1)?
5. Do I still pray to God as I use to when I first believe or I have fainted? These and many more are questions you need the Holy Spirit to ask you and you should honestly answer.
Signs of departing from the faith are what Jesus saw ahead that made Him ask this question.
Brethren, has your love for money, the cares of life, the deceitfulness of riches not dragging you gradually away from the faith? This is not the time to seek 'other things' He promised because only those He meet in faith will reign with Him when He returns.
Pray with Romans 16:25
