GODLY AND CONTENTED?

"But godliness with contentment is great gain" - 1 Timothy 6:6
.
Godliness means piety - devotion to God. Do you desire to be godly? Live a devoted life to God through Christ. A life that conforms to the principles, doctrines and manners of life of Jesus Christ our Lord.
.
Godliness is not a means of making profit or serving mammon, it is a means of profiting God's kingdom. Godliness is to live like Jesus on earth and not live greater than how He lived in material possession.
.
In the course of being devoted to God, doors of 'other things' will be opened unto you (Matt. 6:33), if you'll be on check then you need to be contented.
.
Contentment is having freedom from worry or restlessness, not acquiring things more than you need them (Ex. 16:16-18). The basic needs of man are what to eat, drink and be clothed with (Matt. 6:31) and what to spend. But when you remain godly and you do His will, you won't lack what to spend.
.
However godliness without contentment is a great loss to whosoever practices it. The opposite of contentment is covetousness. Are you contented with what you have materially, financially, maritally, spiritually and so on?
.
God told the Israelite to gather manna according to their needs so as to avoid wastage, excesses, greed and covetousness (Ex.16:16, para). If you have food and clothing, be contented (1 Tim. 6:8).
.
Jesus lived a contented life. The Apostles did (Acts 2:4) and Paul likewise (Phil. 4:11-12). Contentment is an art that you must learn in every situation you find yourself in life.
.
Are you godly but not contented? Learn contentment. A man's life doesn't consists of the abundance of the things which he has but that he should be rich towards God.
.
Don't acquire all the pleasures of life and miss eternal life.
