'BE CONTENTED': People in my community.

"And having food and raiment, let us be therewith content" - 1 Timothy 6:8
.
What do you have presently? What are you so desperate to have?
.
You ought to be grateful to God because of what you have which many do not have up to what you have.
.
Paul told Timothy that if he has food and clothing, he should be satisfied with it. When a man is discontented with what he has or with what God has given him, he'll be covetous and become an ingrate.
.
Being contented doesn't mean you shouldn't ask God for what you want (Matt. 7:7), it only means that you should not join the rat race of aiming to have it at all cost.
.
Being content makes you live a worry-free life. You won't have to be worried for what you do not have yet, but you'll be grateful for your present state while hoping for the change you want.
.
As a child of God, your ability to have other things that you need is to seek first His kingdom and righteousness (Matt. 6:33). You'll become much more depressed when you pursue material things yourself instead of allowing God to give you as at when due.
.
Lack of contentment makes you compare yourself with others (2 Cor. 10:12). However, no two destinies are the same and God has a different timing for each lives.
.
Contentment is an art you must learn regardless of any situation you find yourself in. If you want more, pray more and work hard. Don't look for shortcuts to wealth. Don't be covetous because lack of contentment is a pathway to frustration in life.
