'DO YOU KNOW WHO YOU BELIEVE'?

"For the which cause I also suffer these things: nevertheless I am not ashamed: for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that He is able to keep that which I have committed to Him against that day" - 2 Timothy 1:12
.
It is one thing to believe in a person, it is another thing to know who you have believed in. Many claim to believe in Jesus but do not know the Jesus whom they believed in.
.
A man's faith is strengthened when He knows whom He believed in and this is a function of intimacy and revelation. Many knew Jesus to be many things but Peter, by divine revelation, knew Jesus as the Son of the living God (Matt. 16:16-17).
.
No man can know Jesus beyond the level of the revelation that the Father allows him to or his own depth of intimacy.
.
Some people know Jesus as a miracle worker but few knew Him to be a friend or someone who's everything to them.
.
In spite of Paul's suffering, he was not ashamed because of whom He had believed in. A lot of people only know Jesus when things are good but when times are bad, they complain or murmur like the children of Israel.
.
Revelation enables a man to know Jesus from a deeper level of understanding that cannot be moved by the circumstances of life. Job, in spite of his adversity, still kept his trust in Him (Job 13:15).
.
God made His ways known to Moses but His act to the children of Israel. Strive to know His ways and not His acts. Strive to go deeper in your walk with Him and not sit on the seat of religion.
.
When you know Him that you believe in, you'll smile in the midst of storms; you will walk on any waters and no mountain will be a threat to you.
