'GOD'S FOUNDATION'

"Nevertheless the foundation of God stands sure, having this seal, The Lord knows them that are His. And let everyone that names the name of Christ depart from iniquity" - 2 Timothy 2:19
.
Foundation could mean the lowest part of a building which supports the total weight of the building. But in this context (2 Tim. 2:19), it doesn't apply. However, referring to foundation as an underlying principle or standard perfectly describes what Apostle Paul meant here.
.
Permit me to re-write the first sentence, we have this: Nevertheless the standard of God remains sure (firm).
.
Do you know that there's a standard which belongs to God in everything a man does in life? God will never lower His standard to accommodate recent developments, technological innovation, modern beliefs or false doctrines.
.
God cannot be part of what is not done according to His standard. And anything you do against God's standard will never stand the test of fire when all works are tested (2 Cor. 3:13).
.
There's God's standard when it comes to choosing whom to marry, going into ministry, marriage, raising children and even walking with God. Jesus is the foundation that has been laid (1 Cor. 3:11) because He's God's righteousness and standard for us.
.
Are you living your life according to God's standard or the world's pattern? The writer of the Book of Proverbs tells us not to remove the ancient landmark which our fathers have set (Prov. 22:28). Jesus is that same standard yesterday, today and forever more (Heb. 13:8).
.
Jesus gave us standards on how to pray, behave, forgive, love, serve and to live. The early Apostles built on that standard. O man of God, what standard are you laying for your members? Dearly beloved, what standard are you building your life on?
.
To live your life according to God's standard; be born again, study His word intently and humble yourself to learn from Him because it is only the meek He will teach in His ways (Prov. 25:9).
.
Any life that's built on a foundation that is not God's will crumble in eternity.
