'HOW PEOPLE FALL INTO DECEPTION'

"For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lust" - 2 Timothy 3:6
.
Who are those who have crept into houses? Which house do they creep into? Who are those silly people laden with sins? What are these divers lust?
.
Religious people who doesn't have a relationship with God have crept into the lives of people through their knowledge (puff up) to lead the souls of men into captivity.
.
They are people who have a form of godliness but do not have the power to be godly. Unbelievers could also gain access into your life to influence you.
.
However, silly people are those who Jesus described as people who heard the word but do not put them into use (Matt. 7:26-27). If you do not obey Jesus' word, you're not different from silly people that are led captive. This is why knowing the truth is the only preventive measure against bondage (John 8:32).
.
What does it mean to be 'laden with sins'? That is, living a life that is prone to sin. A sinner is laden with sin. And anyone who practice sinning is a sinner. However, these people would be susceptible to deception.
.
Do you know that what a man lust after is what the devil will use to tempt him? The world we live in is filled with divers lust. You must not love the world. Only God has the capacity to love the world without being influenced by it.
.
The divers lust in the world are: lust of the flesh, lust of the eye and the pride of life (1 John 2:15-17). Any of these lust can be used as a bait to lead you captive.
.
The devil tried to lure Jesus with several lusts but he failed (John 14:30; Matt. 4:3-10). What kind of lust are you vulnerable to? The desire to get rich at all cost or to be in a relationship by all means?
.
Beware, lest you fall into deception. Seek to know the truth and ask God to deliver you from the love of the world.
