'RELIGIOUS BUT UNRELATED'

"Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away" - 2 Timothy 3:5
.
Godliness is the quality of being devoutly religious, that is, looking like the religion you practice. But unfortunately, the perilous time has made people to have a form of religious piety but denying the power of it to transform their lives.
.
Many are religious but unrelated to Christ. Sadly enough, religion doesn't change a man but his or her personal relationship with God transforms their life.
.
Christianity is not a religion, it's having a personal relationship with God and fellowshipping with brethren. Those who follow Christ are not religious, they're His disciples. There are more pharisees, Sadducees and scribes but few disciples of Christ who have allowed the finished works of Christ to transform their lives.
.
When a person's conduct nullifies their claim of faith, then it shows that they have a form of godliness but deny the power thereof.
.
Religious people knows the word but lack the power to be transformed by the word (1 Cor. 4:20). More so, they draw near to Him with their mouth and honor Him with their lips; but their heart is far from Him (Matt. 15:8).
.
Are you not practicing religious formality? That is, conforming to a conventional practice of religion without allowing the power of the Cross to transform you. Anyone can wear the cross but not everyone have allowed the Cross to crucify them and transform their life.
.
How can I embrace the power of godliness?
.
The power to be godly lies in the Holy Spirit. It is the Holy Spirit that gives you the power to manifest a godly life that is void of formality. Do you have the Spirit of God in you? Has He produced the nature of Christ in you?
