'DO YOU STILL LOVE IT?'

"For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrines; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears" - 2 Timothy 4:3
.
The event of life is marked by time - a time to be born, to die, marry, love and so on. Whether people will accept the truth or scorn it is a matter of time and influence. Unfortunately, we're in the time when people do not want to hear what they need to be told but what they want to hear.
.
Why? It's because of their own lusts - of the flesh, of the eyes and the pride of life (1 John 2:15-17).
.
When your lust determines the choice of the sermon you listen to, the books you read, the music you listen to; then you're a victim. For instance, a man that loves alcohol will only want preaching that supports his act; he may even twist the scripture to back it up.
.
You can't outgrown sound doctrines because you're a work-in-progress. Be passionate about God's kingdom and not the kingdom of this world.
.
Sadly the devil is sponsoring teachers that would tell people what they want to hear. They will tell you that God accepts you the way you are because of your sincerity. That's the truth but God won't leave you the way you are (Luke 19:10).
.
Any preaching that leaves you the way you are is not a sound doctrine. Any teaching that excites you rather than inspire you to repent is an unsound doctrine.
.
Do you love sound doctrines or you have itching ears? The outcome of your life and your placement in eternity is a function of what you love.
