'WORK AS AN EVANGELIST'

"And He said said to them, I must preach the kingdom of God to other cities also: for therefore am I sent. And He preached in the synagogues of Galilee" - Luke 4:43-44
.
Every disciple of Christ is first a preacher of the gospel before God ordains him or her into a particular office or calling (Mark 3:14). Paul told Timothy, a young pastor to do the work of an evangelist (2 Tim. 4:5).
.
Who is an evangelist?
.
It is literally defined as a preacher (of the gospel) especially a revivalist. He is a person who first brought the gospel to a city or region (or person).
.
According to TLB, it stated that "Bring others to Christ".
.
How many people have you brought to Christ ever since you believed? Do not assume, not everyone who is in church is in Christ. Those who are in Christ are those who old things are passed away and all things have become new (2 Cor. 6:17).
.
Jesus was an evangelist. He preached the gospel to cities because that was the purpose to which He was sent. You're saved to bring others to Christ.
.
Regardless of your talent, gift, anointing or calling; your primary assignment is to do the work of an evangelist, that is, go out into the world and preach the gospel to every creature (Mark 16:15).
.
It is one thing to know what to do and it is another thing to do what you know. Are you doing the work of an evangelist or you have relegated it to men of God or for the evangelism department? It is everyone's duty - disciples of Christ.
.
An evangelist doesn't just preach the kingdom of God, he brings people into it; he won't just preach the gospel, he ensures that they believe in it. You can only achieve this through the power of the Holy Ghost (Acts 1:8) - He convicts sinners to repentance and makes them believe.
