Some lessons I learnt from my traveling experience to Akure.

Lesson 2: Be empowered
.
Before the thought of the phone I forgot came to mind, I approached two women for direction to the venue.
.
1st woman. She was fair and was waiting at the bus stop to get a cab to her destination. I approached her and these happened.
.
Me: Good afternoon ma. Please how can I locate this address? (I walked closed to her)
1st woman: (She motioned forward as if she was dumb. The kind of look she gave me was like what-is-my-business). She didn't even utter a word and I asked the next person standing close to her.
.
2nd woman. She was very dark in complexion. She wore a blue laced skirt and blouse dress and she had this SU hair extension on. You know them now, our Christian sisters? As I walked closed to her, I discovered this.
.
Me: Ma, please can you please describe how I'd get to this venue?
2nd woman: (She only nodded her head to indicate no and moved away).
.
My thought: What's wrong? Do I look like a kidnapper? I wore a black pant trouser with a native short sleeved blue shirt. I was carrying a school bag. Do I resemble a kidnapper? I walked in to a place that looked like a beer parlor and I asked the people I met who then directed me to the place.
.
It is understandable that there are incessant cases of kidnapping in our country but is the solution to avoid becoming a victim of being kidnapped to be dumb to a stranger that needed help?
.
Brethren, it's best we're empowered as children of God. For how many people would they act like that to? It's better to have a greater personality indwelling in you.
.
The scripture said greater is He that is in you than he that is in the world. Do you react like this to strangers? I know one ought to take precautions are you wiser than their antics?
.
Don't just be a church goer or be named a Christian, be filled with the power of the Holy Ghost so that the One in you will be greater than the one in the world. It is the Holy Spirit in your life that makes you a true child of God, not the church or denomination you belong.
.
More lessons to come your way, stay tuned.
