Someone sent me this:
"Mummy Oladele, I was just going through your posts now and I have 2 questions for you:
1. Did GOD lead you to daddy or showed you something about him before you two met?
2. Do the married feel crazily aroused the way we youths do?
These questions arose from your posts...God will enrich your ministry...E se ma."
* * * *
Number 2 question got me coughing...hmmm...praise the Lord!!!
Now, straight to the answers:
1. God did not show me anything about my husband before we met. He told me later that he knew the moment he saw me I was his wife. Well, I didn't know he would be my husband. I was just being friendly. We both liked each other. I was very comfortable with him. I had 100% peace in the relationship. He was my dream man.
2. It depends on who you marry. Sexual arousal is high for singles due to many factors: inexperience, abundance of adrenaline, testosterone/progesterone, exuberance, lack of responsibility to anyone, free time among others.
If you marry your best friend, sexual arousal will be high most times. You will always want to be in the company of your best friend, merge, bond and have sex. If you marry someone you don't like and force yourself into the marriage, claiming it is God's will, sex will be the first to suffer. No one likes to hang around someone they hate.
That apart, ageing, child rearing, responsibilities, life challenges, childbirth, family planning, sickness, stress among others can affect a couple's sex drive.
Mis-management of familiarity, routine and boredom can also affect a couple's sex drive. All these obstacles must be consciously worked on to constantly enjoy sex in marriage.
Above all else, practice 1 Corinthians 13: 4-8, that is the best way to enjoy your marriage any day, any time. Don't forget, keep yourself pure. Say NO to sex before marriage. God bless you. Cheers!
