'LAY ASIDE HYPOCRISY'

"Even so you also outwardly appear righteous unto men, but within you are full of hypocrisy and iniquity" - (Matt. 23:28)
.
Living double lives is the simplest definition of hypocrisy. Many appear to have higher standards or live godly but privately, they live differently. In the body of Christ, many appear saintly but secretly, they are sinners.
.
Are you an hypocrite?
.
An hypocrite is someone that appears righteous on the outside but within, he is full of iniquity and pretense like the Pharisees. Men may look at the outward appearance but God sees the heart of men and what is done in the closet.
.
You can do exploit for God and still be an hypocrite (Matt. 7:21-23). If there's a slight or great difference between your outward and private life, that's hypocrisy.
.
Many are hypocrite because they're still slaves to their desires, habit or sin.
.
Some would preach that people should not steal or commit adultery, yet they are perpetual sinners in their secret life (Rom. 1:21-22). Some would even define the kind of life you ought to live in their post on social media but they themselves have not been living such life.
.
To lay aside hypocrisy, there must be repentance produced by godly sorrow. There must be a conscious desire to live a balanced life - your public life must correlate with your private life. Ask God for grace.
.
With humility you will watch how you live your life in the public and when no one is watching. Do not forget that there's nothing done in the secret that will not be made manifest (Mark 4:22) whether good or bad.
