A life lesson from the founder of Coca Cola: John Pemberton.

I woke up this morning feeling great but mourning over some passed failures and because I didn't want that to bring my spirit down; I decided to play some motivating Nigerian songs. While I was enjoying them and trying to find a way out of the blue the story of John Pemberton came to my mind.

John Pemberton is the founder of the world famous Coca-Cola. In the beginning of his career as a pharmacist after numerous failures and a taste (fought) of civil war in1886 he decided to invent something extra-ordinary that would bring him commercial success.

It was not until 29th January, 1892 that Coca-Cola was founded after discovering a distinctive tasting soft drink that could be sold at soda fountain in Atlanta. The success of the invention did not also came suddenly until a business man, Asa Griggs Candle took over after the passing of John Pemberton in 1888. The change of hands (ownership) of Pemberton's invention brought the much awaited success of Coca-Cola and Coke took over the world.

The level of Coca-Cola's success can be measured to be proud of over 900 bottling and manufacturing facilities globally and still counting. Coca Cola today have become partners of major events like FIFA World Cup and many more and not forgetting their numerous humanitarian services  across the globe and remembering their social-economical programmes in various communities across the world.

On 22nd January, 2018. Coca-Cola continues to bring happiness to all lovers of football across the globe. Read an excerpt of how FIFA World Cup Trophy Tour by Coca-Cola takes off from London:

Today the global leg of the FIFA World Cup™ Trophy Tour by Coca-Cola kicked off with an official launch ceremony in London, with former FIFA World Cup™ winners Sir Geoff Hurst of England and Andrea Pirlo of Italy on hand to celebrate and send the FIFA World Cup Original Trophy off on its worldwide journey.
Starting today, Coca-Cola is inviting fans around the world to get #ReadyFor the highly anticipated 2018 FIFA World Cup™ by giving them the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to get up close to the same Trophy that will be presented to the winning country of the tournament in July. The FIFA World Cup™ Trophy Tour by Coca-Cola will visit 91 cities, across 51 countries and six continents, giving thousands of fans the chance to experience football’s most coveted prize.
This is the fourth time in history that Coca-Cola and FIFA have come together to bring the Trophy Tour to the world. This year, the 2018 FIFA World Cup™ Trophy Tour will touch down in a number of nations for the first time ever, including Iceland, Austria and Mongolia.
“As football fans around the world gear up for the 2018 FIFA World Cup, we want to make sure they are ready for all of the emotions that this summer’s tournament will bring,” said Ricardo Fort, Vice President of Global Sports Partnerships, The Coca-Cola Company. “The Trophy Tour will give fans everywhere a taste of the excitement that’s to come, not to mention a once-in-a-lifetime chance to see the Trophy for themselves.”

As a lover of football, Coca-Cola and FIFA have not only given me an opportunity to experience and enjoy the football event in Russia but have also provided a platform for me  to follow the trophy everywhere it goes and to add a new chapter of my success story of the FIFA World cup after I attended the event for the first time in history in South Africa.
In a nutshell, inventing something extra-ordinary is not the success but turning it to a commercial success might be a succession but passing it to generations after is the great deal!
