Human Beings Are Rivers.

This is a common phrase in the Yoruba culture. We are like rivers that flows and would meet somewhere, someday in whichever bank of life we meet.
.
This was a statement that came to reality when I went for a program in the outskirt of Lagos, several kilometers away from where I live. On getting to the place, the first house we stayed before we moved to where we were lodged was a 4 Bedroom bungalow situated in a rural community. In the living room, I noticed the picture of a woman that was generously displayed on the wall on the occasion of her birthday which looked like the woman I met in 2016 when I was doing my 2nd degree program.
.
I do not want to be forward because Yorubas usually say, "God created us in twos". Few minutes later, someone drove into the compound that looked like the woman. I went closer to meet the brother who invited me for the program and on getting to where he was, lo and behold, it was that woman.
.
This was a woman whom when I had problem with certain academic work, she told me what to do in a calm and collected way, like a mother advising her child lovingly.
.
She sat closer to her husband and while we were trying to dig into the past where we met, her husband bumped into the conversation. He was a man in his late forties, industrious and fun to be with. When we saw the man when we first got to the venue, he was setting up the stage for the program and there was never a dull moment. In fact, everyone put their hands to work.
.
As we got home and he saw that I was talking with his wife, he said, "Do you know her? There are two women in the world, my wife and other women?" We laughed and I told her where I met her. Myself and the woman greeted ourselves and discussed about my academic program in the university I did it.
.
Moral of the story...
.
Always be good to everyone you meet regardless of how they treat you. No matter how placed or educated you are, be nice to everyone around you. Treat them with love, understanding and patience because sooner or later, you'll meet someday. The world we live in is a small world, though we may be miles, kilometers or continent apart, one day, situations will bring us together.
.
How do you think I would feel if I had misbehave or she has done something bad to me when we met at first? Follow peace with all men and do good to all!
