'EXERCISE YOUR FAITH'

"So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God" - Romans 10:17
.
In Matthew 4:4, Jesus said that man (you) shall not live by bread alone but by every word that proceed out of the mouth of the Lord. This means that you should run your life based on what God's word says, either in the written or spoken word.
.
When you live by the word of His mouth, you live by faith, but if you turn stones to bread, you live by circumstance. You cannot exercise your faith or grow in it when you're fond of turning stones to bread.
.
Turning stones to bread is finding alternative means to solve the problems in your life instead of depending on God. God's will is that you live according to the word that proceeds out of His mouth, this is absolute dependence on Him.
.
To live by the word that proceeds out of His mouth:
.
1. Ask for a word in the midst of your situation in the place of prayer (Matt. 7:7). To hear a word from Him over your situation, prayerfully ask before you lean onto your own understanding.
.
2. Be patient (Luke 21:19). Impatience would prevent you from prayerfully seeking His face over that situation. Impatience would make you seek for alternatives rather than live according to His word or apply His word over your situation. Impatience would make you act before seeking His face.
.
3. Don't fear (1 Tim. 1:7). Don't allow the situation push you into action without getting a word from Him. If you're afraid, you'll be impatient. Fear of the unknown prevents a man from depending on God to meet his need, instead he would quickly turn stones to bread.
.
You cannot grow in faith if you do not exercise your faith in the everyday issues of your life.
