A REASONABLE SERVICE.

"I beseech you brethren by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service" - Romans 12:1
.
A man's activity in the church is not an indication that he's serving God. What God sees is the vessel that's performing the duty, not the act of service itself.
.
Today, many of us are offering the act but our lives doesn't become acceptable to God. You can be a choir member, usher, workers in the house of God, in spite of your commitment and dedication, you're not acceptable unto God because your body is not a living sacrifice.
.
A man's body houses his spirit and soul. Once your spirit has been regenerated through salvation, you must allow it transform your soul so that it would reflect in your body. Your body must be a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God.
.
You cannot become a living sacrifice or give Him a reasonable service through your human effort. The Bible says it is the spirit that gives life but the flesh profits nothing (John 6:63). Through which medium do you offer your act of service to God?
.
For you to give God a reasonable service, you must offer your body, that is, surrender both your spirit and soul to the Holy Spirit. This is why the hymn writer wrote this, "Take my life and let it be, consecrated, Lord to You". Your ministrations in church cannot influence any lives if you haven't offered your body to God as a living sacrifice.
.
God will never forcefully take the possession of your life unless you surrender your all to Him. There are many people who claimed to be serving God but their bodies (spirit and soul) is dead before God.
.
So that our effort in the house of God will not be a waste on the last day, shouldn't we cry out to God to make us a living sacrifice to Him so that our lives will be a reasonable service? Remember, any carnal or fleshly motivated life cannot be a reasonable service to God.
