'WHAT ARE YOU SEEING?'

"And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also her husband with her; and he did eat" - Genesis 3:6
.
What are you seeing?
.
What you see determines what you'd like. What appeals to your senses determines what satisfies you and whatever brings you pleasure determines the outcome of your life.
.
Many love sinning or immorality because it is pleasurably good to them. And because it's pleasurable, it makes them feel good as they indulge in it.
.
The lust of the eye is one of the major problem we face in the world. Lots of people are covetous, they take what they do not need either by force, deceit or wicked means.
.
David saw Uriah's wife, Bathsheba as she was having a cool bath. She was pleasant to his eyes and 'good' for a wife. He felt having her would make him enjoy himself as a king but the rest of his escapade with her became a terrible chapter that destroyed his life.
.
Dearly beloved, what are you secretly coveting or lusting after in your heart? What suggestion is the devil giving you based on that brother or sister you saw, met or you're in a relationship with? If you proceed to carry out his suggestion, you will undo God's purpose your life and end up as an Ichabod.
.
Job said, "I have made covenant with my eyes, why then should I think upon a maid" (Job 31:1). What covenant have you made with your eyes?
.
Are you lustfully admiring that brother or sister? Do you see illegal means of making money as the way forward, perhaps you want to use what you have to get what you want in an ungodly way? Are you seeing the kingdom and glories of this world as must-have or a do or die affair?
.
What you see have the capacity to destroy if you seek it. David later prayed in Psalms 119:37a, "Turn away my eyes from beholding vanity". All that are in the world are vanities of life, if you love them and covet them, they will destroy you.
.
Above all, seek you first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and all other things shall be added to you.
.
Can you please say this prayer:
.
"Father, turn away my eyes from beholding vanities and set my affection on the things above in Jesus name".
