My Pick Pocket Experience (2): Guard your thought.

One of the lessons I learned from this recent phone loss is about guarding your heart with all diligence against unwholesome and ungodly thoughts.
.
Sincerely it wasn't an easy thing to pray in such state of emotional turbulence after I discovered that my phone had been lost.
.
I was thinking if it was my sins that caused it. Yet, another thought said to me it wasn't so. Like Job, shall a man receive good at the hand of the Lord, and shall we not receive evil? Another thought came.
.
In spite of how I was serving God, would He repay me back with this? Another thought flowed in. Several thoughts were seeping into the fabrics of my soul. The phone I just bought newly in April and it was gone in August. Chai! Who did I offend? I summon up the courage to focus on my prayer but I tell you, it wasn't easy.
.
Another thought said, "Will you be committed to God in spite of these?" I knew that came from the devil.
.
Should I curse the person who took my phone or command fire to fall upon him like Elijah? But the Spirit in us was not given to us to destroy lives but to love and save even our enemies.
.
How will I go about all my documents that I haven't backed up? Should I ask those street guys if they could help me trace the guy who stole my phone? Too many thoughts were coming into my mind. I just took the courage to let go of them and continued with my prayer.
.
Dearly beloved, learn to discern and sieve whichever thought flows through your heart whenever anything good or bad happens. It doesn't matter whether you're spiritual or not, you must be able to guard your hearts with all diligence.
.
The issues of life stems from the thoughts. Your thought is affected by what you think and what happens to you on the outside.
.
To hate or to love could be induced by internal and external factors. But as believers, you must allow the love of God fill your heart. Would Jesus have acted harshly if He were to be in my shoes?
.
Well, you may say you're not Jesus, that's right. But isn't it better to pattern your life like Jesus so that you can become like Him than to live according to the dictate of your flesh or the society?
.
Remember, as a man thinks in his heart, so is he. You become what you think of and the thought you allow to occupy your mind determines the order in which your life is formed. Think defeat, you'll be defeated; think success, you'll be successful.
.
What's happening to you presently that wanted to make you give up on God? Discard any thought that wants you to blame God whenever anything bad happens. Master your thoughts and don't let it ruin your life.
