My Pick Pocket Experience (3): Where's Your Treasure?

Here comes the great lesson I learned during the 5 days experience I had when my phone was stolen. After this, I'd share the last very important lesson you must never forget. Please patiently read through this article and examine the state of your heart in relation to material things.
.
What will happen to you if you lose your loved ones, properties, huge amounts of money, gadgets or cars? Will you still serve God if you were like Job? God forbid! We often say, but if He doesn't, what would be your reaction?
.
Honestly, it's normal to grieve and cry but it's unwise to charge God foolishly. There are some lessons in life that you can only learn when it happens to you.
.
It's easy to say like Apostle Paul, nothing will separate me from the love of God when it's not a statement that stems out of your personal experience. But when situations like famine, hardship, hatred, rejection or it seem as if God is not answering your prayers occurs, will you still love Him more?
.
Jesus asked Peter three times if He loved Him and he said yes but the true test of love is not known in the good times when things are rosy. True love is known in the face of turbulence, hatred and when times are bad. It's in the place of suffering that the true test of love is revealed and intimacy is deepened. Anyone can love when things are rosy but only few can truly love when times are bad...Help us Lord to love you come rain come shine.
.
The second lessons I learned during this period is this: Let not your heart be attached to the material things of this world so that when you lose them, you won't lose your mind.
.
The best things of this life are immaterial when you compare them with the things that are above. No wonder Jesus said we should lay up our treasure in heaven where moth cannot corrupt nor thieves break in... For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.
.
Let not your heart be so tied to any material things so that if they are destroyed, stolen or corrupted, you won't lose your right frame of mind. Anything can happen to the best phones, most expensive car, the beautiful or handsome woman or man you're married to or those things you have acquired; but if your treasures are in heaven, trust me, nothing can happen to them.
.
Are you stockpiling treasures on earth or in heaven?
.
The souls you won for God, the labor of love you expend for His cause, the giving you made for Kingdom business after you have truly given Him your life and other things are the crowns, stars and mansions (treasures) that will be credited to your heavenly account. Do you have all these credited to your account in heaven?
.
You'd never know how much of the material things of this life your heart is not tied to until when you lose them and nothing happens to you. Any moment you lose any material things of this life and it breaks down your heart, it shows you hold onto it.
.
Also note, the devil gets at you easily when he knows that your heart is so much tied to the material things of this life. He came to Jesus but he never found any lust for material things in His heart.
.
Don't love God because of the sugar and tea He provides. Love Him even when it's only Gari you have to soak.
.
Are you lusting after the material things of this life or you have set your affection on the things that are above?
.
Few minutes after prayer, I was discussing with my colleague at work, then this song popped in...
.
"You are God alone, from before time began
You were on Your throne, You are God alone.
And right now, in the good times and bad
You are on Your throne, You are God alone".
